The first big Space-Battle we seen in the Mass Effect Game. The Reaper Sovereign leads a fleet of Geth Ships against the Citadel Defense force. The Alliance fleet with the Normandy SR-1 comes to rescue the Destiny Ascension an the Citadel.

Initially, it is not noticed me. The Alliance ships in the first part of ME had a red color. Later in Part 2 and 3 it changed to blue.

These are the original ingame models extracted from ME1 & ME3.

You know, if you change the SR1 to the SR2, give the ships the Alliance blue scheme AND changed the background abit, then this could be the fleets jumping in for the final showdown above earth. At least then the York cruisers wouldn't look outta place. Then again, there's nothing saying the HSA didn't have Yorks in service alongside the Berlin class at the battle of the citadel.

Is this art or a screen shot?

Its made by me, based on the final battle scene from Mass Effect 1. A free adaption of the scene.

Not bad. The quality of your work actually had me fooled into thinking you were posting screen shots. Glad that's not the case as you do REALLY good work.

interesting to think that the Andromeda initiative is being either designed or built somewhere while all this is going on

The battle of the Citadel was around one year before they send the Ark-Ships out. The Event was multiple mentioned in Mass Effect Andromeda.

right, but it's gotta take quite some time to plan the mission and build those things

They built these things 20 years ago.

Man, so many ships lost during the rescue of Destiny Ascension... and that was BEFORE the concentrated attack on Sovereign!

maybe red= arcturus station
blue = Sol station ?

I heard that solution too. But in ME3 we only see blue Alliance ships, so i think they had changed it for all fleet. Maybe to distinguish them from the red colored Turian ships.

perhaps, makes a lot of sense considering the new ships that were a blend of turian and human design.

The shape of these cruisers is Tokyo/York class. I thougth it was Berlins and Genevas mostly with only a few Tokyos. Nice pic!

I use the York class cruiser instead of the older Berlin class because of the better textures.

I prefer to think of the colour difference as a matter of fleet identification. Red for the fifth fleet at Arcturus, Blue for the home fleet at Earth, I'm assuming that would be the first, etc. I realize there's probably some evidence to the contrary, but I enjoy the thought, anyway.

In first i thought the same. That the color is for recognice the fleet.
But in ME3 we only see Alliance ships with blue. So i just think this is now the Alliance color.

That's probably what the designers were thinking.
But I like to think the bit about the different color fleets is right, but the red fleet was one that was completely destroyed in the early days of the fighting. Makes more sense, IMO.

It is possible the color recognizes class, the Geneva and Berlin classes were both red, light Geneva and blood Berlin. The Everest is red as well (it's the only dreadnougth confirmed at battle of the cidatle) while the Kilimanjaro is blue (confirmed at battle of earth).
