New Crobuzon - High Caliber Bridge

based on the world of Bas Lag in the book Perdido station by China Miéville. In the book is the bridge mentioned as destroyed, so I took some artistic liberties and interpreted the place on my own, making the bridge still functional, before someone had a great idea to shoot from those cannons :)

beautiful  work - though i have a feeling that the bridge could not handle the sustained recoil of these

For the most part a very nice picture, a good color-sceme and nice industrial atmosphere.
But I think you made the cannons too big. The bore is about the same sice as the bridge arches and the length of the gun carriages seems to fill the whole width of the bridge which means no place to load.
These criticisms are not based on the book you have used as inspiration since I haven't read it, so I could be completely wrong.

Thanks for your comment. In the book is the bridge destroyed, so it actually makes sense. However I should add some more info under the picture so the size of the cannons is more clear :)

That's what I was thinking. For a gun that size you'd need a far bigger foundation otherwise you'll make a load of masons and builders very happy every time you fire it.
But maybe I should read that book first...
Very cool piece, congrats on the DD.
