I think you can search for typographic portrait tutorials online. I haven't made one though.
The whole thing is done by drawing lines with pen tool and typing on a path. From there adding layers styles, overlays, and lighting effects.

use the pen tool in photoshop to draw a path, then switch over to type to type on that path. make all the text in black, and just repeat this process. it takes absolutely forever, but the result is worth it!

after you got all your text laid out, you can apply overlays, layer styles, and lighting effects. make sense?
