💬 How the scam works:
Fake contact/project: Scammer reaches out about a “commission” or “job.”
Payment by check: They claim they’ll send a check.
Mobile deposit: They ask you to deposit it using your banking app.
Refund request: They ask you to send part of the money back for “project costs.”
Check bounces: The bank later rejects the check.
You’re responsible: You owe the full amount.
Report it!
