Phineas Mason or better known as The Tinkerer is an elderly genius in engineering who is able to create weapons, gadgets, and other devices from nothing more than spare parts left over from ordinary household appliances. He is also an assistant hired by Wilson Fisk or The Kingpin and would even design advanced weaponry for other villains like his own boss and sometimes undertakes crimes of his own while also setting up useful inventions he made for The Kingpin's personal death threatening vendetta against the superhero Spider-Man.
