Biography:
Calypso is a deadly and mysterious British Voodoo witch and supervillain of African descent who is born and raised in London but later moved to New York City as an immigrant citizen. She had gained her powers due to practicing and training in performing Voodoo magic along with being skillful for using a variety of potions with many different effects for her victims to put on as well as having the ability to possess or control the minds of innocents and will force them to cause all the crimes she wanted in order to her mark to reign control all of New York and to spread fear onto citizens, rival gangs and crime lords that might think her easy pickings, or be tempted to recruit her for their own purposes. She is rumored to have a deep connection with the “spirit world” and is able to communicate with the dead.

Calypso is also associated with clients who are charmed by her skills or for her beauty and that she take advantages of her clients' lust to commit crimes for her in exchange for her so called rewards.

At some point, Spider-Man did not know of her until one of his battles with a certain Hunter led him to a confrontation with her. She had no coral with the spider, but Spider-Man he couldn’t let her keep running around forever. He would be forced to turn her in.
