The Lost Maiden Ch 8Chapter 8
Mermando looked off towards the north with a feeling of emptiness in his heart.
It hurt him deeply that he had been forced to leave Mabel behind in the garden without even saying goodbye to her.
While he knew that this marriage was for the sake of the nereids, it didn't mean that he wanted to go through with it. Mabel was the one he truly wanted.
"Do you miss her?" A voice asked.
Mermando turned around to see Sakura standing beside him.
"What did you say?" He asked.
"I said, do you miss her?" She asked again, softly.
The prince sighed heavily before he spoke.
"In more ways than anyone could ever know."
"Then why don't you back to the garden to be with her?" Sakura asked.
"Everyone is watching me like a hawk! They think I'm going to leave to go back to her!"
"But don't you want to?" The nereid haired nereid asked.
"With every fiber of my being; but how am I to know that she's still there? How would I be able to swim back without the others bringing me back within an instant? I

It didn't take very long for the leaves within the garden to change their color and fall from their branches.
It didn't take any time for the sun to fade away leaving nothing but cold grey skies.
I didn't take very long for the warmth of summer to relinquish into a the crispy fall air.
It took almost no time for Mabel to feel loneliness and betrayal.
The young maiden had continued to remain within the abandoned nereid garden. The water was almost to cold to drink or bathe in and it was getting harder for to keep a fire going for warmth.
She still had a good amount of food, but she was worried of it would last her throughout the winter. Let alone if she could keep herself warm during the harsh cold.
Mabel kept herself wrapped within her little blanket that Mermando had given her. She wished she could have an explanation as to why he had done this to her. Why did he and the other nereids just abandoned her without saying goodbye or when they were coming back?
All she could do t

Several months later
"We have been searching and searching all summer for this girl; and we still haven't found her! Can we please just give up the stupid search and... GO ON WITH OUR LIVES!?" Tambry screamed. Reaching the end of her patience.
Gideon turned slowly around with a look of obsessive rage in his eyes.
"No... I will simply not just go on with my life... Not until my little peach blossom is back with me!"
"Gideon she's probably dead by now... We even went back to her village to see if she was back home; and you saw her mother believes her to be dead. It's hurting that now her brother is disappearing to go look for her. Believing like you that's she's still alive." Robbie groaned.
"She's not dead, dear Robbie. She's still alive... I can feel her essence..." He whispered in a rather creepy way.
"Then where is she?!" Tambry demanded.
"She's in the Nereid's garden like I told you." Gideon stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"We've been searching fo

Mabel found herself walking around what appeared to be the forest.
Everything around was filled with nothing but darkness; and there was the sinister stench death.
The young maiden couldn't help but wonder how she got here; but she knew she wasn't safe. The safety of the garden was now gone, and she was at the mercy of the forest; and that included the evil siren himself.
Mabel felt tears fall down her cheeks as the wind violently blew through the trees; and the feeling of eyes watching her delicate form.
The poor girl trembled; she felt so vulnerable and alone. She wanted her brother to hold her tightly and tell her everything would be okay.
After walking some more she could hear the sound of a man singing.
The sound was nothing like she ever heard before. It was so beautiful and almost gentle, but it felt so wrong to her as well.
Something about the little song was evil; as if it wanted to lure the maiden to her death.
The singing became ever so louder
I Told You SoPower was a very strong thing.
When you had power you could do anything you wanted. You could create... You could destroy... Life was at your fingertips; and you could manipulate it with just the flick of your wrist.
So why did he want to protect them when he had the power to rule?
This puzzled Bill Cipher greatly.
He always wondered why the thunder god was so desperate to keep peace. It wasn't getting him anything. Threats were inevitable. From tyrants in this world to his own brother and father trying to decimate this place and take it for themselves. He even had to banish his father to the Netherrealm he was such a threat.
And his brother...? Man was there relationship a riot. The thunder god was constantly locked in tournament known as Mortal Kombat. If the brother won 10 tournaments he could take the realm for himself; and everything would be destroyed.
Things seemed fine at first. The god had a great fighter known as the Great Kung Lao. He kept the peace; however he had saw defea

Gideon and his fellow companions slowly trudged within the darkened woods. Determined to reclaim Mabel in his possession.
"Shouldn't we be looking closer to the water?" Asked Robbie.
"NO! WE SHOULD NOT BE LOOKING CLOSER TO THE WATER! DO YOU KNOW WHAT KINDS OF THINGS LIVE IN THERE?!" Gideon screamed.
"But you did leave her on the raft." Robbie protested. Isn't that what you should be looking for?"
"Them waters are deadly. She wouldn't be alive if she had remained there for as long as she did." The young man cringed.
"Then are we seriously looking for a dead girl?!" The black haired man snarled.
"Of course not Robbie..." Gideon chuckled, slightly. "Because I know she is alive... My instincts are usually on point you know."
"Then where do you think she is?!" Robbie demanded, starting to reach the end of his patience.
"She must be hiding in the Nereid garden!" Gideon whispered in his creepy way.
A young woman with magenta hair looked at Gideon with her mouth open.
