The Lost Maiden Ch 10Chapter 10
Mabel sat within the corner of the cavern still wrapped in her little blanket.
She had been trapped there for about three days now and she was desperate to go free. She didn't care where she would go, she just wanted to get away from the siren that was keeping her against her free will.
Mabel was hoping that through a twist of faith that Mermando would come to her rescue and the two would marry and live happily ever after. But how things seemed now, it looked like Bill may have been right. The nereid prince wasn't coming to her rescue her.
She traced her finger against the smooth ground. Everything was silent. It almost reminded her of the nights when she and Dipper would be asleep in their beds with there was nothing but the unnerving silence around them.
Mabel never liked when it was completely silent; but she always found a silver lining when she could hear the sounds of Dipper's soft breathing close by, sending her to sleep.
But now there was nothing that could soothe he

It was like the siren was had her under some sort of spell and wouldn't let her look away from. But what could she have done, anyway? Mermando looked off towards the north with a feeling of emptiness in his heart.
It hurt him deeply that he had been forced to leave Mabel behind in the garden without even saying goodbye to her.
While he knew that this marriage was for the sake of the nereids, it didn't mean that he wanted to go through with it. Mabel was the one he truly wanted.
"Do you miss her?" A voice asked.
Mermando turned around to see Sakura standing beside him.
"What did you say?" He asked.
"I said, do you miss her?" She asked again, softly.
The prince sighed heavily before he spoke.
"In more ways than anyone could ever know."
"Then why don't you back to the garden to be with her?" Sakura asked.
"Everyone is watching me like a hawk! They think I'm going to leave to go back to her!"
"But don't you want to?" The nereid haired nereid asked.
"With every fiber of my being; but how am I to know that she's still there? How would I be able to swim back without the others bringing me back within an instant? I

It took almost no time for Mabel to feel loneliness and betrayal.
The young maiden had continued to remain within the abandoned nereid garden. The water was almost to cold to drink or bathe in and it was getting harder for to keep a fire going for warmth.
She still had a good amount of food, but she was worried of it would last her throughout the winter. Let alone if she could keep herself warm during the harsh cold.
Mabel kept herself wrapped within her little blanket that Mermando had given her. She wished she could have an explanation as to why he had done this to her. Why did he and the other nereids just abandoned her without saying goodbye or when they were coming back?
