Coloured Doves by Eszies-Eszie Coloured Doves by Eszies-Eszie
Found this hidden away somewhere

These are real doves, they're alive and so. They can be found in the Efteling. They play a role in a Fairytale.
I found the Dutch version of the story. Lemme see if I can translate it properly for you.

Prince Arthur was going to get married with the beautiful princess Genoveva. The prince wanted a wedding dress that was just as beautiful as her name.
"Look," said the prince, when they were on a walk together. "with the yellow of the buttercups and the blue of the cornflower."
The princess laughed. "And the red of the papaver, the pink of those flowers and the beautiful green of the bushes."

In prince Arthur's country, there lived an old woman. She was the best weaver in the whole country. Prince Arthur told her that he wanted her to make him the most beautiful dress she had ever made. Silence fell after he stopped talking. The old woman pointed to her eyes... She was blind and the tears fell down her cheeks. "My hands can do it." she said. "but ... I can't see the colours anymore." The sad prince went back to him palace, while the old woman fed her doves. "How terrible that my eyes can't help anymore to make that dress." the woman said, sadly.
The doves went back to the trees and the owl said: "Stupid animals, you know the colours? Can't you do anything for the old woman?"

The next morning, the old weaver sat sadly in front of her loom. Suddenly, a dove flew through the open window. He pressed his head against her hand. Every dove came into her room. "If I knew what was the green yarn." she sighed and immediately she felt a beak pushing a bun of silk between her fingers. The weaver felt a tingling in her fingers and soon she started to weave. The doves flew every day and the old lady was happy. They worked for many days.

At one afternoon, the last yarns was woven. With a sigh of happiness, the woman wrote a note to the prince. One of the doves took the note in his beak and flew to the palace. The prince came as soon as he could and he didn't know what to say once he saw the dress. Every colour of every flower they had chosen were there. It looked like a dress from paradise. He hugged the old weaver, but she said: "You should call the doves, because without them, I couldn't have done this work.

The princes clapped his hands. The doves flew into the room and the prince couldn't believe his eyes. Because the doves had to drudge into the strands so many times, that they got the beautiful colours of the flowers.

Alright, it wasn't as properly as I wanted to, but I have a good excuse. I'm tired.
So, I'm off to bed and for those who can read Dutch, here's the link of the fairytale: [link]
