This was taken in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey, Glastonbury, Somerset, UK.
It was a cold but bright day, and I loved the colours on this fern. The bits of the leaves that were still alive are a clear, vibrant green, but towards the edge you can see the deep reds and browns as the leaves die away. The remnant dew drops in the leaves was the icing on the cake.
Autumn has been really late this year. You'd expect all the green to be gone by Novemeber. As it is it's like a snap-shot between life and death. Or so I like to think
The image could be sharper, but I think it's satisfactory.
