They have it all wrong.
Some people believe that the Loch Ness Monster, instead of being a living dinosaur stuck in the lake, is actually the ghost of a dinosaur.
That is close, but not quite accurate.
It is said that in early July of 1870 the founding members of The Chartered Institute of Banker's in Scotland tried to summon a demon so as to make a deal that would mean that their institute would bring untold success and never fail.
There were three sacrifices made. A black cat to open the portal, a virgin maiden to summon the demon, and a large beast that sailors pulled from the ocean and brought back to exhibit, but was never publicly shown, to seal the bargain.
The beast took on a ghostly form and roamed Loch Ness.
It cannot be free until the Institute fails, and the Institute will keep going strong due to the bargain made. As a matter of fact, it is the only banking institute left in the UK.
Some say that the others failed or closed down due to continued sacrifices of a smaller nature
