I haven't been doing a lot art-wise recently. The only times I've been motivated to draw anything have been on my Nintendo DS using various homebrew programs. Something about the portable low-fi Cintiq experience appeals. I like the challenge of limited tools and the immediacy of stylus-driven digital art.
Since I've got tons of time at work and a fair amount at home, thought I'd fill it with something useful that'll work with my schedule. So, I enrolled in Art Instruction Schools basic art course. I'm fairly excited about learning some of the basics, etc., since I've never had any sort of art education. Woohoo!
Alright, wiped out a couple of deviations. There didn't seem to be any interest in 'em. They both were submitted because I thought a couple people might enjoy them but truthfully, I wasn't very proud of them. I'll probably be a touch pickier when selecting items for upload.
I love the control, etc. but I think I'm gonna ditch the tablet except for coloring. I spent an hour or so on a drawing last night and it looked like a deranged monkey had an epileptic seizure while holding a pencil. Spent about the same time w/ a 6b pencil & pad and the results are infinitely better.
Damn. Spend a little money on the tablet and hardly touch the thing. I guess the problem is portability. Either way, since I've gotten some good feedback on the tablet-only images I'll hafta kick that into high-gear.
