I added a couple of elements to this older picture as both a commentary and a protest concerning a trope that I feel is abused a lot in SF/F illustrations.
You know, these tiny characters in the foreground, often in one of the lower corners? Their backs most likely turned to the viewer as they gawk at the awe-inspiring vista? Their presence in the picture serving apparently no purpose except to give the viewer an idea of the vista’s scale?
Can we please avoid using these if at all possible? It feels lazy and gets tiresome fast.
