Making Strides

Like the comic says, I am shamelessly bribing you with art. Here's how to get it.

1) Stop by my page at the Making Strides website and click the "Make a gift to support Ms. Erin Ptah" button.

2) Select a donation level. Even $5 helps.

3) On the next page, in the field labeled "Send a personal note to the person you are supporting", type what kind of picture you want drawn. Alternatively, you can send a PM or an email with the details.

4) On the page after that, fill in your financial information. The money goes directly to the American Cancer Society.

5) Sit back and wait for your picture to be posted!

The last day for making donations is October 4 - the date of the walk. Requests will be filled in the order the donations were given. Like I said, though, I have personal motivation, so you can expect a quick turnaround.

Here's the page to donate. Take a look!

You drew Martha Jones and the first PowerPuff chibi was the fourth Doctor. Also, Stephen Colbert, if I'm not mistaken, with the American flag and pink shirt and tie.

I love you. :D

No, but seriously? I think this is an absolutely beautiful cause you've started here. Truly. My family's also particularly prone to cancer, so I can totally see where you're coming from. If you don't mind me asking, what was it that really sparked your fire for starting this program?
ErinPtah's avatar
You are, indeed, not mistaken!

I think "starting this program" gives me too much credit - it was a friend of mine, who does a lot of work with our school's chapter of Colleges Against Cancer, who told me that the walk was happening. And it's CAC that's organizing our team and getting the bus and so on and so forth. I'm just getting swept along for the ride.

As for why I was inspired to do drawings - well, I did a different walk a couple of years ago, and we didn't make our fundraising goal. Not even close. So this year I thought I would do more than just ask people for money (especially given the economy), and give them some specific motivation.

You know, thats a really creative and incredibly intelligent road to offer people. Cause regardless of economy, people love art. And art costs money. It's really quite brilliant, actually. I just wanna say: I really, really admire you for what you're doing. If I ever get a spare bit of change, I'd love to put some money towards your cause.

I'm not the first person to do this sort of thing, you know XD

If you can scrape together $5, my cause would love to accept it.

And thanks!
