I've studied creative arts for many years, including courses in Ceramics and Gold and Silversmithing. In 2003 I traveled to Florence, Italy, where I received private lessons with a professional Art Restorer in Old Masters' oil painting techniques.
I've participated in three group exhibitions. In 2016 I volunteered to craft a collaborative artwork for an Art Charity Auction: www.createdwithcare.com.au/rai…
In 2016, I finished studying for a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Griffith University, majoring in Art History.
My artwork "Smoke" won Best on Paper for the Bluethumb Art Prize 2018.
Yes. I'm really getting into photography now as well though! Loving long exposures. We got the Sony A7ii and the Sigma Art series 50mm lens and we are about to buy a zoom lens, probably the 70-200mm Sony f4.
This is a great shot! Would love to see it without the cables, but that would be hard to do for that one going over the taxi. If you'd changed your angle slightly when taking the shot you could have lined the cables up with the white lines. Maybe. Love the contrast between the colourful car and black and white ground. Also the red stripe makes this even better, especially as it lines up well with one of the black stripes. Also curious to see it without the white lines in top left corner and the manhole. Great clarity and sharpness.
I really like this painting. If I were to suggest anything to modify, it would be to add more depth to the path if possible. Perhaps through adding some more darkness to the border of the path? The light and colours are beautiful. It is a touching scene. I particularly like the touch of detailing in the street lamp. The lines going across the ground work well. The reflections could perhaps be strengthened. The blue on the man's coat helps to draw the eye. The application of the paint gives a sense of movement. Overall this is a great piece!
