Description
Redraws are always fun. Even if they’re only, like, a little over a year and a half old.
Granted, this one is only a reink, and mostly just because I don’t have access to the original lines anymore thanks to my hard drive crash. Which I’m fine with, because it meant that I could start from scratch and make this not only more accurate, but also look better to boot. Not like there was necessarily anything wrong with the original, other than Greg. Because I didn’t know how to do glasses last year, and he looks like a massive dork in the original.
I also tweeked the colors a bit, and made Greg fit in more with the theme going on. I liked the jeans, certainly, but he was way too causal compared to Lane and Darcy. Which was an easy fit – make his jeans khakis! He still looks more causal, but that’s just because he’s got his shirt undone to show off his uniform shirt. I changed Lane’s outfit slightly as well, since I’ve figured out her style since I did this. And it’s sort of cute. And sort of sort matches Greg with not being quite so fancy.
Of course, Darcy steals the show over there, with the best outfit and because she’s so damn gorgeous. But she’s supposed to be. Yeah, Lane’s pretty and all, but she doesn’t quite have the fashionista sense that Darcy has, and she doesn’t really like to clean up nicely every single day. Leave that to people like Darcy. She’ll stick with just being comfortable.
I also added an actual background, figuring this could be a sort of poster of sorts. Looks neat, even if WfS doesn’t quite have the space theme necessary to have the galaxy background. But whatever. It’s pretty.
Overall, very pleased with how this turned out, but at the same time, the original wasn’t half bad to begin with, so…that’s always a plus.

Plus this one has a background too, which looks really pretty (and I don't care that it's really not a 'true' sci-fi story; it can be one if you want it to be 
)I'm not sure what I can say that I didn't already say on the original, but it's interesting to see the little changes, like Lane's hair. It looks gorgeous both here and in the original, but somehow it looks a lot curlier/untamed here, and somehow that works for her. The shift in colours looks nicer, I think -- Lane can pull off green just fine, being a redhead and all, but I've gotten so used to her in that shade of pink that it just looks a little weird to see the original. I don't know if it's the dark background, or the white glow, or the fact that she's surrounded by tan people on either side, but Lane looks so much paler here than the original, even if I don't think her skin tone changed (or if it did, it was so slight as to not be immediately noticeable). Poor girl almost looks paper white, which I suppose is part of her charm, but it seems so striking compared to the other two.
Darcy's purple/blue combo is pretty interesting though, and one she can pull off really nicely! I think I like the split colour look more than the solid coloured dress you had her in before -- it seems funky and unique, which is totally up Darcy's alley, or so it seems to me. I also like how you did the top half of her hair, the part that's pulled back. You really get better sense of the form of it that way. I don't know, I'm just rambling at this point.
I think the jeans could've worked on Greg too, since Darcy always dresses nicely and Lane looks dressed up, but not so much that Greg wearing jeans would look weird, if that makes sense. It looks like a cute, comfortable day dress rather than anything more formal. But Greg looks pretty good in khakis as well, and they go great with the blue shirt. >.> I don't know if that red and gold tie is going to be a permanent thing from now on, or if you just put it in because of the collab, but I do like it! it looks cool and is a nice, subtle way to hint towards the Superman connection. I agree the glasses look nicer here, but then again this whole thing looks a bit more polished than the original, because that's what redraws are for. >.>
It might be a simple picture, but sometimes those are the best. >.> Love this, and looking forward to seeing more!
