Description
This is the first in a series I decided to do in order to fill up the individual galleries of the site. They need some major love. Naturally, I decided to start with Psyche, mostly because she’s the main character/narrator, and because I wanted to draw this dress on her. It’s stolen from ~callisto-chan, specifically this picture. When she had first sketched it out, I thought it looked like a modern version of a toga, so I sort of wanted Psyche to wear it as well, and…yeah, she raided Dia’s closet.
Of course, the dress was supposed to be white, but then I decided to play with it a little, and ended up liking the gradiented version better. It’s a little more interesting, methinks. And it’s pretty, so it works for her. This, by the way, is sort of considered her ‘goddess’ form, although she’s mortal. But she was immortal once (it’s complicated), so she gets the honor of having a goddess form as well.
I decided to do her braid a little different this time, mostly in the spirit of her being dressed up. She makes mention in the story that her fashion statement is just a small braid, and doesn’t specify where it is, just that she has one. So I decided to play with that a little, and I like it. It’s not as in your face as her normal braid, but that might be because I forget the curls in front of her ears. Whoop.
And, of course, she has the arrow, because she’s Psyche, and she needs an arrow.
Over all, I think this turned out very pretty, and I like it.

Bad Psyche, raiding other people's closets. >.> But at the same time…well, she does look pretty in this, so who am I to complain?
I really love the gradient of the dress, it's really eye popping and the shift in colour suits her nicely. I like the purple too; for some reason when I think of what Original Psyche and what she represented (the mind), I automatically think of purple. Maybe it's because of pictures like this that does it.
I also like how her hair turned out. I know you forgot the little curls in front of her ears, but the style still looks really nice as it is.
Maybe this could be a variant of her usual style. The braid also looks cute like that too - like you said, not as in-your-face as the usual braid, but still enough to tell that it's there. It's definitely pretty! (And, this is going to sound odd, but I like the bracelet she's got there. It's cute!)
The white shoes also sort of fit the picture pretty nicely - I can't tell if the lightest color on her dress is white or a pale lavender, but it's close enough that the shoes complement it nicely. And, of course, the white of her shoes and the pink of the underskirt/netting match that arrow nicely. >.>
I love the idea of Psyche having a goddess form, since it's totally something she could have. She doesn't know how to change into that form like all the other gods, but she still can have one. And this is a modern twist on an ancient look, so that's awesome.
