Ryan and Ben - Three Years

Description

I almost missed it, but luckily I remembered from checking a few months ago that my first picture of these guys post Hart, Inc. happened to be in July. This is basically the picture that started it all.

Three years ago, I had decided to start reading Twilight on a whim. I had been looking at some pictures from the series, although at the time I was like, 'what the hell is this shit?' Still, it seemed like the sort of book that would be right up my alley, so I bought the first book...and then I had to and get the other two like immediately afterward, and then get all obsessive with it. :O_o: Still, it was sort of funny how, somewhere in the middle of reading it, my mind sort of just...drifted to these guys.

Now, the funniest thing about the early picture isn't so much the picture itself - it's bad, but not too bad; the worst I can see is their hips - but rather the description to the picture. I was sort of operating on the idea that the vampire story I had in mind was going to follow the same sort of mythos that Hart, Inc. had, what with vampires being undead humans. I was also working under the assumption that this wasn't going to be a story that I was actually going to write someday, mostly because a lot of my ideas at the time just sort of...poofed away after a while. I didn't expect to be able to finish it, let along restart it and finish it again. :O_o:

So reading the description and trying to figure out what the hell I had in mind three years ago is sort of funny. I've certainly developed it since then!

It is sort of funny to see a blond Ryan now, which is weird since it used to be weird to see a brunette Ryan. I don't know; I guess because I've seen her with brown hair so often I prefer it now. The other Ryan looks just sort of...blah, but that was because I was starting to get into my 'realistic' phase with hair, and attempting not to give them anime hair. ^^; The Ryan now has awesome hair because wavy hair is pretty.

I also decided to change things up a little and instead of making it pretty much the same pose, made Ryan pregnant, because she's going to be pregnant in the next book. It's also to show how far they're come, from me going if I write the story to writing about her pregnancy. :D

Its sort of weird to think that it's been three years since these two smacked my muse and then proceeded to latch on for dear life. At times, it feels like it's been too short, whereas others, it feels like it's been forever. Here's to hoping for more changes in three years. Who knows; maybe I'll be published by then. :P

Here's a link to the original so you can view the description there. Hee.

Wow! Always nice to see the contrast! You've done it before with Ryan, but here you get to see the contrast between original Ben and new Ben too. Might not be as big as the contrast with Ryan, but it's there. Though the biggest contrast is definitely the style to me; the old picture doesn't look too bad today (it's the faces that seem a little off to me more than the hips, but that's only noticeable because of the comparison with the new version.) (But ha, Ben with the deep shadows under his eyes looks funny now. :O_o:)

I like How Ryan turned out, especially with her pregnant. :D It's a nice way to show how far she's come, from the beginning to now. :D She wasn't pregnant too long in the old version (that I remember), but yeah, it's nice to see her so happy. I also like Ben's expression; it seems like a nervous sort of happy to me. I absolutely love the powdery blue shade you chose for Ryan (it fits her very well, even if pink is her colour), and Ben has a nice dark-light contrast going with the dark blue shirt. He looks really good in dark blue to me, so good to know you apparently agree. ;P I just love all the little dark-light contrasts you have between these two; it always makes it look so striking.

Yeah, blonde Ryan is funny now (and Ben's eyes, like I said), but what's even funnier is reading that old description. I have no idea what you meant now, but the ideas sure sound interesting/kind of strange. ^^; I totally didn't even notice that picture was three years to the day until you mentioned it, though. That's awesome. :D

Great to see the changes three years can make, and I look forward to seeing what three more years will bring for Purebred! :D
