Description

This is the second in the little series I’m doing to flesh out my individual galleries, and she’s not actually a profiled character…yet. I just wanted to draw her as well as design her goddess form just for the hell of it, because she’s a character I do actually rather like, and can’t wait to get to.

This is Hedone (pronounced He-doe-knee in my version), the daughter of Eros and the first Psyche. Considering the fact that she’s a goddess as well, I figured she’d still be around, even if her mother’s not.

In order to save Psyche some discomfort, I decided to make Hedone appear around twelve years old, so she’s more like a little sister than the grown daughter of her boyfriend.

At first, I did think the concept would be something that would freak Psyche out, and I was going to play that up a little, but I didn’t want to be that horrible to her. Then I came up with the little sister concept, and I, well, like it. But it’s just sort of funny, because Hedone is the goddess of sensual pleasure, and she looks…twelve? (I remedied that by her taking on the mantel of just goddess of pleasure at some point.)

Hedone’s toga just shows how original I am, considering I used the same design as Persephone. >.< I chose the shorter version of it, and added shorts to add to the youthful factor of her design. Over all, she’s an adorable kid, and I happy with the way this turned out.

Oh, and she has an arrow as well to show that Psyche’s not the only girl that’s got Eros wrapped around her finger.

Yay, it's Hedone again! Haven't seen her since the first profile picture. >.> And I certainly haven't seen her in her goddess form, but it is cute! And sure, it might be the same design as Persephone, more or less, but you've modified it for a child, and jazzed it up with those shorts there, so it's got an interesting, modern-but-not-quite look to it. Like, the dress alone looks like it could be a normal top, paired with…I don't know, tights or skinny jeans and boots. And then the sash just pops out against those dark colors. >.>

Haha, yeah, having a young goddess as the personification of sensual pleasure as a little…odd? But I suppose you could interpret 'sensual' as anything to do with the senses (so something pleasing to the eyes/ears could be called pleasurable). It works, right?

I love the pink and red color scheme. It's darker than I'd expect, but maybe I've become used to Eros' pink and white, and so expected his daughter to have something similar. It'd be acceptable on her, but even she gets some nice deep colors.

I'm not sure if I ever said this before, but I love how her hair has some resemblance to Psyche's, or at least has the little strands in front of her ears. That looks really cute, and is a nice touch. (But poor Original Psyche. I don't know if she was blonde or not, but right now, she seems to have gotten all the looks from her father…who is pretty handsome, so hopefully it'll work out well for her when she grows older. >.>)

Again, I like the font…I was surprised you stuck with that style/didn't give her something pink, but there's something about the way it turned out that looks really nice. And the color complements her coloring very well, so it works out great.
