Asterian Persey

Description

Well, I figured callisto-chan was kind enough to design an Asterian dress for Persey - at my request - so I also figured I should probably do something with it.  And so I did.

To be fair, she shouldn't look all that freaked out wearing this.  While, yeah, she might wear Asterian clothes while she's trapped in Asteria, I figure they'd be, like, secondhand clothes that the Sterres kinda throw at her to help her blend in.  What she's wearing now is the dress that Josh would have designed for her after she brings Cassie back, or after the events of the first book, whatever.  Since, you know, a lot of the dress is fashioned after Ithiyan fashion as well.

But for some odd reason, I had the thought to model the picture after Solenian dress picture, including the hair, because I liked it.  I have no idea why, but there ya go.

And yes, I'm pretty damn sure she'll probably make Spirit of '76 comments all the time while wearing this.  ;P

I'm pleasantly surprised you did manage to do something with this, even if it is a random picture. Those are sometimes the best ones, or at least they turn out the best. I think this one did! I like how the original was the Solenian dress and now this one is Persey in Colonial-inspired dress. I don't know why, I just find it a bit funny, maybe because Asteria and Solenia aren't too differemt, stylistically, now. :XD: Hahaha, if Asteria made the jump from medieval to Colonial, does this mean Solenia needs to make the jump from Victorian to modern? ;P Hm, wait, I wouldn't get my pretty dresses and/or cute steampunk outfits, so probably not

You seem to have a trend of dark, or at least very bold, colours, which I find very interesting compared to the dress itself. Most eighteenth-century stuff that I've seen is usually lighter colours -- probably because those were people's nice dresses and so were more likely to survibe than the darker, more practical work clothing -- but these are very bold, and I kinda like it. It's an interesting twist, and the colours suit Persey really well to boot. I think I've said something to that effect before but it's worth saying again, I think. It's just a neat twist on the idea of eighteenth-century-inspired clothing to have different colours from what's 'usual'. The white petticoat is also a nice way to make everything not super dark either. I love how you still managed to sneak her Converses in there! Luckily with the length of those dresses, no one will notice. >.>

Haha, I don't know why Persey looks so startled, but she kinda looked startled in the original as well. Looks like someone snuck up on her or something and she has no idea how to react.

I think the contrast is really interesting, since the Solenian Persey was one of the first tablet pictures you did, and there's a noticeable difference in bth lines and coloir between then and now. Like, I know you did the lines for both with Illustrator but for some reason the lines here just look smoother, which is probably because you've adjusted more to using the tablet to ink and colour. The same could be said about the colouring and colour choices -- I notice a lot of the colours you chose to shade with in older pictures, like the Solenian Persey one, are darker, which gives you a nice contrast but at the same time looks different compared to this. Here the shading is softer and the colours are a little warmer; it gives a completely different effect. Am I making sense? The long and short of it is that you've changed and improved over the years, and that's always good :P And hopefully your new tablet will be a little easier to work with than your old. >.O

Anyway, this is a very nice picture, even if I don't know who or what startled Persey that badly. ;P Looking forward to more pictures before November! :D
