Apprentice and Gatekeeper

Is it kind of sad that the top half of her gown reminds me a little of the top half of Aerona's new outfit? Yeah, this was drawn first, and Aerona doesn't have the lacing up front (she has it on her cincher, not on the bust), but it's been a while since I saw Gatekeeper art...meanwhile, I've seen quite a bit of Earthia art, so I suppose that's why it's on my mind. So yes, long story short, it is sad.

That said, this is also very pretty! You can really see the improvement three years makes (and for some reason the improvement is a little more apparent here than in the Ryan/Ben picture -- here, you can really see how things are a bit more proportionate; Tobias' shoulders, for example, look much more proportionate now than then).

I really like how Persey's face turned out, for some reason. It just looks really pretty, to say nothing of the improvements you've made in drawing faces and hair. Her hair looks really sleek and smooth here, as does Tobias'. Their poses are also a bit more natural, too, rather than standing up stick-straight like before (not that that's a bad thing, it's just that this looks a little more naturalistic).

I like the emphasis on her ring, since there hasn't (to my knowledge) been a picture of her with the ring at all, since your art shifted from Gatekeeper back to Earthia. So having it in this picture is a nice little touch. Subtle, but it's there.

Ha, I like how Tobias' tool of the trade has changed from a wrench to a hammer. I know why you put the wrench there before, but I think a hammer suits him a little better -- the wrench looks too modern for an otherwise medieval-esque picture. But hey, the mirror's still the same! Good to see some things stay the same. >.>

Like I said with the Purebred picture, I don't know what inspired you to redraw this series, but I have no complaints. Love it!
