I recently stumbled accross the fate/type-moon universe and got addicted really fast to the setting and the amazing characters in the series. Here's my depiction of a fictional battle between Archer and Gilgamesh inside Archer's 'reality marble': a magical world materialized inside reality with a special set of rules. In this world Archer has access to an unlimited amount of weapons to defeat his enemy, hence the name "Unlimited Blade Works" (which I find pretty awkward actually, but maybe it's just me).

I have been experimenting with volumetric light in all of my recent artworks, but I feel like it turned out quite cool in this one. I'm also happy with the perspective, although admittedly the composition might appear confusing because of it. I actually spent a lot of time placing each sword and cog carefully to lead the viewer through the scene. I hope you like it!

The stocks I used came from visualhunt.com and photobash.org. Here's a comparision with the original plate:

Advantage: Gilgamesh. Heroic Spirit Emiya isn't going to be taken as lightly as regular Emiya, so Gil's going to be more prone to grabbing the big guns. Another 0.5-1 seconds and he would've used Ea in UBW as it was.

That skeleton right down there implies that there were animals wandering around Emiya's soul.

Like Sword cow's or something

Otherwise, I love this picture. Great job.

lol - to be honest I simply wanted to emphasize the atmosphere of a graveyard of decisions "for the greater good". The skeletons are there to turn it into a more sinister place. Admittedly it doesn't make too much sense with respect to the original meaning of the reality marble. Sweating a little...
Glad you like it though, thanks!

I totally agree with Sarita116's rating and MedusaRedden's words in the critiques!

This is utterly brilliant, and your placement of swords is perfect. The fight is clear, and I'm surprised the guy on the ground is still standing. He seems to have been hit often enough.

Oh, and those giant gears falling all around? Deadly.

thanks so much for the nice compliment! The gears are actually floating in the air, more or less to simulate a magical clock work.
