Just a random guy who does 3D Rendering and models stuff. Based on Star Wars for now. More to come!

I'm saving up for a new PC, because my laptop is over 10 years old and the rendering takes years for me. To be able to build a new computer I need some more money and since I can understand that some people don't like to pay monthly, which I can understand, I created a PayPal donation link :)
So if you want to support me without paying monthly I really would appreciate it. Every dollar/euro is damn valuable for me!

(Be aware that donations don't include any advantages such as previews.)

or just support me on patreon. I'd be really thankful for any help :)

Just curious, what do you think of my plan with making paid downloads?

So, finally I'm able to post my own modeled and textured unit. Sure, you will notice that the helmet is not screen accurate but it has its reasons. I don't like that the screen accurate ones has like "holes" for the "mouth". I prefer the ones from TCW, but I don't like the helmet design from it. So, I kinda combined both into one. I hope you still like it :D
I will post a BTS of this for my patreon soon ;)

Oh and I will also publish some texturing process soon for my patreon too

I hope you like it ;) (Wink)

My Patrons will recieve:
  • Full-Res Renders (from 4k up to 8k)
  • Photoshop files of the Editing Progress
  • Process steps such as Modelling, Rendering setup and editing
  • Higher Tiers will recieve my own modelled stuff

Finally a render after a long time (1 month I think?) I'm so sorry for the inactivity, for real. I need to update all of my textures and models since I collab with a YouTube Team.
This is the render where I wrote a BTS document with full detailed introduction how I do the renders. Check the preview here:
Patreon Exclusive Preview #1General Grievous Superiority
Scene Setup
While eating breakfast, I came across an amazing idea and decided to show you the full process.
What I use for the process:
    ·         Spotify
    o   Without music nothing works
    ·         3ds Max
Firstly, we need to set up the scene.
So, I load my file of the Clone Trooper and since I redid all my textures, I haven’t equipped the right textures for the Standard Trooper. To do so I open the Material Editor of 3ds Max and it looks like this now:
It looks confusing for the starters but it’s easy once you get used to it. You see small squares attached to a big one. The big ones on the right side are the shaders/materials and they are attached to the objects in the scenes. Here we have different shaders to each

Oh and I also got way more renders on the way since I had a surgery last week and can't go to school, yay.
Stay tuned!

I hope you like it ;) (Wink)

It looks confusing for the starters but it’s easy once you get used to it. You see small squares attached to a big one. The big ones on the right side are the shaders/materials and they are attached to the objects in the scenes. Here we have different shaders to each Trooper Equipment. From top to bottom we have: Gloves, Body, Heavy Parts, Specialist Parts and Helmet. We need to change the textures of the Body and Helmet.

Now that’s the shader of the Helmet. Top line is the Diffuse which gives the object colors. Second line is the Reflect Map. The line goes all to the Roughness Map on the left side. The left side are always the Bitmaps (Texture Files) and the squares between bitmaps and shaders are modifiers of the textures. For example, the Reflect Map is attached by the Roughness Texture and that is attached to an “Invert modifier” since my Render Engine (V-Ray) doesn’t use PBR.

PBR Roughness is set up like this:

Black = ...; White = ...

While V-Ray set up is like this:

Black = ...; White = ...

To achieve the right results, we need to invert the Roughness Map. There are two methods to go on.

    1.       Like I said before, we use invert modifiers blocks that invert the map while being attached to the shader.

    2.       The simpler way if you don’t have any idea of the Material Editor for the begging, just invert the map in Photoshop or any photo editing program that supports Image Inverting and then import the texture into the Material Editor.

Now back to our shader, the Roughness Map is also attached to the Reflect Glossiness. Reflect Map and Reflect Glossiness may sound similar but are completely two different things.

Reflect Map: Clarity of the Reflection

    ·         How clear you see the Objects in the reflection.

    o   White = ...

    o   Black = ...

Reflect Glossiness: Reflectiveness

    ·         How strong and visible the reflections are.

    o   White = ...

    o   Black = ...

...
