New Beginning

The next commission is officially underway! It’s been quite some time since I’ve said that.

There was a gentleman in my area that saw “Mechanical No.5” ticking in an exhibition at “The Players” theatre in Detroit, and approached me with an interest in a commission from the same clockwork gene pool. The next morning, with that piece, and his aesthetic preferences in mind, this well balanced piece jumped off of my pencil. Mechanically, and visually, everything just fell into place with this design. I barely set the pencil down all day. He had a finished drawing by that night

In keeping with the “Mechanical No.5” breed, this one will have magnifying lenses adorning the back of the hands. I’m going to attempt to lay some tiny type on (what’s left of) the dial, which will be read much more easily when the lenses pass over.
