Really great macro work!!! I love the way the magnificent focusing shows details, particularly the water drops enlarging effect. Wonderful and great photo work, indeed.

first i want to say is awesome.
i am just trying to start to do some macro photo myself. I was wondering if you can shear some info of what kind of equipment you use on something like this. I have a 5d mark II. if you would recommend some lens. i was thinking about buying an 50mm and reversing it, but don't know if is a good idea.

great work!

For this image I used the MP-E 65mm macro lens. This lens is extremely difficult to use and isn't recommended for beginners.
My advice is to practice "regular" macro for at least a year before going on to do extreme macro.
Good luck!

The sharpness is excellent and the depth of focus just right. What really makes this picture is the water though, otherwise it would have been 'just another close up of an insect'. Wonderful.
