Mother Nature

Mother of Nature presents an attractive combination of placidity and dynamism. The figure's pose is restful, but the turn of the head suggests the possibility, even probability, of action. The scene used on the robe is pastoral while the ripples spreading out from the hand create movement. The puffy pile of clouds has the same effect, to which the misty quality of the entire scene contributes. This juxtaposition of elements suggests both the eternal presence of nature and the continual change of a living ecosystem. I'd enjoy seeing variations on this, perhaps with additional natural elements in face and hair.
