Submission Rules

Hey guys! As an elite-tier group, we have some guidelines that will help you understand what we go by when voting. If they are not clear and are confusing, please ask for clarification.

We require that your subjects have clean edges, and are missing no limbs/sections of the body. [unless intended by design]

To have a properly blended image, your subjects and any additional objects must carry the colors from their surroundings well.  This includes characters with unrealistic colors. It is your job as an artist to make the viewer believe that horse does exist in your image.

Environment recognition is understanding cause and effect. Your subject must reflect the conditions of its background, including, for example, wind strength and direction, lighting direction and intensity, and grounding effects such as kicked up dirt or snow or splashes and reflections in water.

Grounding, in general, is the process of making your subject look as though it is truly standing on its background. To achieve this, you must first include a convincing shadow. This shadow should have an intensity and sharpness appropriate for the lighting in the image. It should also change shape based on where it falls - shadows in tall grass appear very differently than shadows on flat ground. Then, you must also include other details based on your subject's location. Subjects in water generally have splashes and reflections, while subjects in snow or sand might kick it up and leave footprints.

Your subjects (horses and all other companions) must match the perspective of the background. They must be an appropriate size given objects in the background, and perspective of the images must be close enough matches so that the images flow together. An extreme example: a horse pictured from above would not fit with a picture taken of the horizon from close to the ground.

All of the above are baseline requirements. If you do not fulfill these requirements there is a good possibility that you will be declined.

I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but none of the links such as the applications or other information are working for me. I'd love to apply though, let me know what I can do! <3
