Chapter 3“Sure ma’am!It's the deciding one of this informal game though,so yeah, be careful. Improvised rules. Last one of the game we were playing late yesterday evening.” “Cool! Chuck it here, I’ll show you how it’s done!” . The ball is thrown at me and I catch it easily in one hand. I walk up and pitch with all my might, and the batter is soon gotten out. Ordinarily he wouldn't be out, but by the looks of the kids at the moment, this seems to have been part of the improvised rules. I smile. I check my watch. “Oh! I’d better get a move on now kids, see ya!” I say. I look at the kid who got out. He seems so shocked! It’s just a game. “Bye bye!” “Later miss!” “See you!” “Have a nice day!!” I hear as I go on my way. I check my watch again. Oh dear. I start jogging lightly and break into a sprint for a bit. Eventually I get back to the house.

Chapter 2Someone across the road is mowing in their front yard, but something seems a bit wrong about it. “You alright, buddy?” I ask cheerfully. “Yeah, yeah I think I got it now, thanks for asking!” he replies. “Try not to get too messy in the garden today, yeah?” “Alright cool. Have a nice day!” “You too!”. I look up at the early morning sky and see a few clouds drifting lazily overhead. They look so much like fairy floss! Oh it's been Ages since I last had fairy floss! I cross the road and continue on my routine path. I take a deep breath. So far, this day is pretty good. I do hope I can keep it that way. I spot a group of children, who are on the road playing Cricket. Nice day for it, I suppose. “Hey kids! Do you mind if I pitch for a bit? I got some time.”

Chapter 1It’s a pretty bright day today. Pinks seem to be very much in fashion this year. I don’t particularly LIKE the colour pink, it’s a little too girly, but there are places where it fits naturally. I do like my walks though, and they fit right here, early in the morning, when the happy sun is just waking up and the streets are pretty much asleep. I see a piñata was hanged from a tree on my neighbour’s lawn, ready for the party that would be around 2 this afternoon. Goody! I should be able to hang with them and have a snack on my break. I take one long break around that time of day, because I work late of an evening. I love my job though, so everything’s fine and dandy! The neighbour’s kid is really adorable, quiet in their own way. I wonder what ze’ll wear to zir party. Probably not baby stuff, ze is in their mid-teens. I hold my water bottle to my lips and … nothing. Oh, silly me, I forgot to open it! I fumble to open it and take a sip
Mannequin Girl chapter oneA humanoid shape bangs on a bowl-shaped object in the darkness. Thank god it isn't a new moon, else we wouldn't be able to see this. There is a jingling noise. I take it they have found their keys. Oh, uh, while they aren't doing anything particularly interesting, I'll tell you who I am. I'm the formless narrator for the first part of this novel, and yeah I'm self-aware. I could generate a form but that'd be distra-wait they've done something. They've finally opened the door. There's more light now. They look ... well it's quite hard to describe, mostly because I can't actually tell for myself. And it's rude to assume pronouns, so uh. We'll wait for them to be mentioned? That could take a while. And they've driven away. Great. Hang on, why aren't we following them? Uh sorry guys I thought it'd be their story. Apparently not. I wonder why they left? It can't have been me, I don't think they were aware of us. Fine. We'll take a look around then, shall we?
Well I'm not sure why I paused ju
