My main artistic focuses are drawing, photography, and I like writing film reviews.
I am a Christian, an Eagle Scout, and a big Star Trek fan.
I prefer colder temperatures environments over the warmer environments. I prefer warm showers over cold showers.
My favorite drink is A&W Rootbeer.
My favorite food is French fries.
I collect things such as pin, pens, coins, postage stamps, and Boy Scout Council patches.
I am into movies and T.V.. I listen to soundtracks. My favorite composers consist of Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, James Horner, John Powell, Trevor Rabin, James Newton Howard, Alan Silvestri, & Elmer Bernstein.
Captain Couragous (1937)
A film about a kid who is a brat & lies as a speciality Private School.
It is a movie where we see a kid at the beginning of this film who lies to get what he wants and does not care and thinks he can get anything because of his fathers money to a person who changes and does not care about money & only wants to go fishing to pay respect to his friend who taught him.
We also see a relationship that starts out distant between Father & Son & gets closer by the end.
This is a film filled with many great actors like Spencer Tracy, Lionel Barrymore, Mickey Rooney.
I think that this was a pretty well directed film by Victor Fleming. I like the camera choices and frame work in this picture. My problem was that the acting did not have the crew moving enough on the ship. They looked like they were all on stages when the actors were on board a boat rather than a ship, especially when there was a storm.
I think that this was a great film Evan though the boat scenes in many cases looked staged.
The film starts off in a typical way. It is not until the kid is thrown overboard and we learn that the fishermen crew refuses to bring him back to land till they are done with their voyage that we learn as an audience that this is not going to be your typical story.
The relationship between the kid & Spencer Tracy's character reminds me of the dynamic between Silver and Jim in Treasure Island.
This film is different than most in what happens to the mentor towards the end of this film.
This film is unique in that there are at least two languages spoken and people onboard the fishing boat from at least 3 countries represent in this film yet there are no subtitles at all for the translations in this film.
At the end gives you the most touching moment because it is between the father & son. The Son helps provide the best performance from acting like a brat and gradually change to a better kid. The end will get you to cry.
