Comparison between the original illustration for Quradorah made back in April 2013 (one with a boring non-background) and this year's much needed update (with an actual background). For the sake of context, here Qurodorah's brief character description.
***********
Qurodorah is an ancient prehistoric demon made of dead bone and living black tar, who lived around the more actively volcanic regions of Late Cretaceous-era America, Earth.
Qurodorah subsisted on its various kills, less for survival and more for cruel amusement, savoring the psychic misery and distress given off by his numerous victims.
Despite his virtually unstoppable visage, however, even Qurodorah couldn't survive the massive Cretaceous-Paleogene Extinction Event that devastated prehistoric Earth as the proceeding nuclear winter diminished his once plentiful hunting grounds, resulting in Qurodorah slowly weakening and ultimately dying from the absence of tortured livestock.
That would have been the end of the horrible dinosaur-devouring devil had its cursed remains not found their way into The Book of Vulthoom; a magical tome which houses (imprisons) hundreds of other giant monsters and similarly sized super-beings from across time and space, all ready to be released forth into our own modern times through recited incantation.
Fortunately for all living Earthlings, The Book of Vulthoom is barely legible, with many living alien beings having no clue about how the incantations should be read in their correct form.
UNFORTUNATELY for all living Earthlings, The Terrible Tooth, a mad alien scientist made of nearly unbreakable calcium and with an even more disturbing disdain for modern societies across the galaxy, CAN read and recite the book correctly.
Qurodorah's return is just around the corner, itself the oozing vanguard of many more Disaster Monsters to come!
awesomeness!
