Hmm, I notice Aemond (his remaining eye) and Daeron have their mother's blue eyes instead of the purple eyes that Aegon and Helaena have. Was that intentional?

This was a commission, for which I had physical descriptions provided by the commissioner, as I have not read the novel. It was drawn a little after the book came out, so I had little to no online clue (e.g.: detailed asoiaf wiki articles) about how anyone looked like, specially not to the detail of their eye colour, other than what I got in the commission request :) If I had no info at all, I went with whatever I felt looks good. So it wasn't intentional.

Oh, it wasn't a criticism at all, just something I noticed. Completely understandable.

Another little something I noticed was that all the child characters have both of their feet firmly on the ground except for Prince Jaehaerys, who was noted to have had six toes on each foot. Just made me wonder if his condition made him slightly clubfooted like Larys Strong. It's probably nothing as well. I'll stop now.

No, go ahead, your points are great, it's just that I can't really get into the topic as I've not read it :)

Thanks for taking the time to look at all.

A few years late, but I am still kind of in love with the work you did here. And on the topic of the Velaryon boys and their appearance? In Princess and the Queen there is no mention made of their appearance. That wasn't until The Rogue Prince. Which came out several months after your picture.:)

Still, I know you probably don't look at your old pictures' comments sections, but I'd like you to know that this picture did go a fair way in how I characterize these well... characters!:)

Thanks! :)
I really had little to go on, all I had were ASOIAF wiki articles with just sort of hints at the time, and some help from the lovely commissioner, who had read the book and had some extra info, or his own ideas on what the characters look like.

I'm glad, you like the way it turned out :)

Heh, as I said. At the time you did the picture, nothing violated existing canon because there was literally no descriptions of the Velaryon boys of Rhaenyra's. I also prefer the way you had them, as opposed to how GRRM had them described in canon. So, well, kudos!:)
Well, you're probably one of my favorite artists. Though that could be bias due to how much I like the stuff I've commissioned.

And on that note, whenever you're available again I have some cash set aside to get some new pics. Fire and Blood came out and it's got me wanting more stuff.:D

I love your work but I'm going to nerd out here for a second. Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon didn't have the typical Targaryen looks. They all had reddish brown hair and brown eyes (pug noses as well and looked suspicously like Ser Harwin Strong, who as Queen/Princess Rhaenyra's champion and likely lover makes a strong case for himself to be included among the blacks).

On the side of the greens, Prince Aemond should have a scar be missing his right eye do to a childhood fight with Lucerys (he but a Saphire in the empty eye socket)
Great job though, I really like your style

Thank you!

I didn't read the book at the time I drew this picture, and whatever info I could gather from the net was vague at best.

You going to to a portrait of Cregan Stark? :D

Looks good, but the BASTARDS should have black hair and pug nose, that really bothers me, as it is one of the main reasons for the dance.
That and Daemon couldn't keep it in his pants or scabbard for that matter or else Rhaenyra would've gained more allies

Again: i did not read this and it wasn't mentioned in the info given to me.

Thanks for the compliment though :)

Oh, so you did this on comission and you never read or heard of the Dance, its ok still a nice image, you help give shape to the story.

Just pointed it out cuse out of your beautifull work it is a major point of the plot.
Amazing job, but Rhaenyra's Velaryon sons shouldn't have Valyrian features, which was the reason why they were mocked as "Strongs"

Yeah, you're right. But this aside, the pic is amazing ;)
