Did some coloring practice with my OC, Evelyn. I did this in GIMP, and quickly remembered why I stopped using it. For one, the overlay effect on the layer was glitchy as crap!

I put the layer on overlay, switch my foreground color and then nothing would happen on the canvas...bleh. Plus overlaid colors seem to work better in SAI anyways..forgive me :iconpainttoolsaiplz:!!!

Anyways, I feel like I've improved with color choices and blending since I've started using a tablet. I know I need WAAAAY more practice, and also I haven't uploaded much of anything with color, BUT I think this is the start of another branch on my art tree ;P

I really like this. She has very feminine characteristics to her face and it makes her look slightly mysterious, but also just, I guess soft is the word I'm looking for. I think a little bit more contrast in the skin and the hair would be pretty sweet, but it doesn't necessarily need it. lol :)

Good job! <3

Thanks! The thing about the contrast: I was playing around with the contrast as much as I could in Gimp, but for some reason the layer blending mode was fighting against me, and on top of that I couldn't get the colors to overlay how I wanted.

I know, I know "oh my gawd, you're just making excuses," right? WRONG! I'm horrible with digital art xD But I'll try again with Sai. I do, however, think that for just the line-work (without all the coloring) that this is the best I've drawn her. At least in this picture she looks womanly, haha!

Thanks for the comment :ahoy: <3
