It’s hard to believe, but here we are - DeviantArt is officially 25. What an amazing, incredible, freaking journey! deviantART has always been the place where all creators - from the shy novice to the seasoned pro - can stand shoulder-to-shoulder and share their art, pixels mingling in a shared space. From humble beginnings as a small hub for Winamp skins and desktop tweaks, we grew into one of the largest and most diverse art communities on the internet. Chaotic at times, always inspiring, and never boring - all by design and intention . To say that 25 years is a long time for a website is an understatement. When we started in August 2000, the dot-com bubble was bursting, and most of the world was still on dial-up. I can continue down this fun memory lane, telling you that Blockbuster was still king with 9,000+ stores worldwide, and Netflix was still mailing DVDs (for our younger members, yes, there was a “movie rental” company prior to Netflix).
