Mostly self taught artist. Generally just for myself but occasionally I do commissions or gifts for friends and family when the opportunity arrises. I primarily do fan art because....it makes me happy. And that's the point, right?
I started with attempting to draw portraits of my favorite Star Trek characters in 1994 when I was 14 years old. In high school for some reason I wasn't really inspired to draw much but I picked it back up in college as a way to procrastinate studying for my Nursing School exams. 2014 is when the bug really hit and I started becoming really prolific (for me). I had primarily just done graphite for most of that time but then started to get into colored pencil and then better colored pencils.
Which it turns out was a gateway drug into all sorts of new things eventually. I started getting into marker (still not that great at that one), and then watercolor, and a little bit of digital (which unfortunately allows for lots of unfinished projects to sit on my ipad untouched for months), pastels and eventually water soluble graphites.
My goal is to keep stretching my wings. Learn about pen and ink drawing, maybe find a way to incorporate acrylic into my repertoire in some way that I can enjoy, do more sketching, explore less rigid lines in my watercolor....etc.
I hope I can keep learning for a long time.
