Amazing watercolor piece. Solid colors in watercolor seems difficult from my perspective when I am used to seeing the running effects of watercolor. Any who great piece of work here.

You can use airbrush loaded with opaque white postercolor, and 2 rulers, to make this kind of light ray.

If I want to paint shadow with sharp brushstroke : yes

If I want to paint shadow with soft/hazy brushstroke, I will paint it while base color is still wet/damp.
