So, I got first place in that San Diego CityBEAT Magazine, and the artist for the magazine drew a picture from a scene in my story for the cover. i am pleased.

Well, I've still got a query letter out there that I need to get a response for, and I'm working on my second edit for my novel, starting the sequel...and I've just signed up for NaNoWriMo.

Last Wednesday (October 4th, 2006) I got notified by e-mail that I am a winner in the San diego CityBEAT short fiction contest! What does that mean?
It means I'm getting published! Damn straight!
While the San diego CB probably doesn't get huge circulation (it being a sort of local magazine, as you may have already guessed), so it's not a really big deal. i don't think I'm getting paid anything either, except maybe for a contributor's copy (a free copy of the magazine my work appears in).
