Zuolong lived before Guanlong and filled a similar niche as Guanlong. It measured approx 3 meters long.

Basal tyrannosaur.

Also, Gregory Paul considers Guanlong to be a species of monolophosaurus, which I find weird.

Greg Paul doesn't really hold a degree in Paleontology, just so you know. He's just an artist with opinions. Who knows, though. He may be right about some of the species he lumped together, but Guanlong is NOT monolophosaurus.

Zuolong, Guanlong, Proceratosaurus, Dilong, Eotyranus, Coelurus, Ornitholestes, are all basal, very basal tyrannosauroids. All coelurosaurs in fact (except for ornithomimosaurs, birdy dinosaurs and alvarezsaurs) lead up to tyrannosauria.

Monolophosaurus as far as I am concerned is a carnosaur. Maybe a tetanuran. I'm thinking carnosaur. Someone's gonna come out in the future saying it's a ceratosaur I bet.

I know he's right about the centrosaurs, as their skeletons are nearly identical, just the heads are different.

He sure knows his anatomy though, which I am very thankful for. His new book is great, but he glosses over some species that he could have done restorations of. Thecodontosaurus, generic megalosaur, coelurids, eocursor, etc.

It's by far the best dinosaur book available. It has skeletals of all the major species, just that he leaves out a couple for some reason.

well, I have the scientific american book of dinosaurs. It's got plenty of skeletals. But I do want more.

Of course.

But why can't I see them?

Coz I didn't wanna show them, duh. I gave this dinosaur lips. Why? I do not know. Sometimes I make my dinosaurs with lips, some times I don't. It's based purely on artistic choice.

But it's anatomically incorrect...

Oh well. Still a cool drawing, lips or not!

We don't know that for sure. I wanted to give him a very serious expression. No baring teeth, no nothing. Serious as hell.
