Tyrannosaurus rex version 2 by EmperorDinobot Tyrannosaurus rex version 2 by EmperorDinobot

I've come a long way lol. I could do a darker scan, but this way I get to show its true colors...er...grayscale.
As promised, T.rex has a 21% on my poll, second to Lambeosaurus which has 18% in the poll (guess what is next?) This was a pain in the ass to draw. T.rex is one of those dinosaurs I am never satisfied with, because everyone has an idea of what it should, could and would have been. Here I've reconstructed it using "Stan" and "Sue"s proportions, all amalgamated into one Tyrannosaurus. Some feathery integument added for good measure (and because I don't wanna get my ass kicked LoL). I apologize for the completely neutral pose, yes there is another leg on the right side, and an arm, I just chose not to show them. Think of it as a "movie design" or something like that. A more active, angry T.rex is in the works, albeit in my head for the time being. I kinda wanna do a Crash McRery (sp?) inspired active T.rex, but I'm not so sure his famous JP rex drawing is plausible. Here I depict a dinosaur that isn't all that agile; a dinosaur that roams around, unafraid to kill, but more at peace by being the top tyrant, in a world where dead carcasses are readily available, and where unsuspecting bored hadrosaurs are easy to bust. There is no malice, no anger, no drive to kill, only being the top matters. Nature will provide the rest.

Anywho, comments are most welcome. I'd rather have comments than favorites, but you all know me! This design is now available in shirt forme, so let me know if you want this on a white t-shirt, and it shall be done (for $12). :la: May the king live forever.

That means a lot to me. I'm normally extremely meticulous with scaling and proportions, but here I nailed it down to an...well then again, different rexes have different proportions. I really just took samples from the better known specimens and went with it.

More than the subject matter, I've been staring at your pencil work for the last 15 minutes.  Fantastic.  You teetered that line of neat/sketchy to really capture that "living in the wild" look.  Love this piece.  Excellent job

Wow! This Tyrannosaurus looks awesome! I like the facial growths you have implemented on the face (very scary and very unique). I also like the facial expression, it appears as if it is longing for something like family or food. The stripes that coat the Tyrannosaur are very well done, and I think that your efforts have paid off!
Keep up the great work!  :) (Smile)

He is very neutral. He's very placid. He's like a "movie concept" for a Tyrannosauros. But I did pour my heart and soul into it. I'm sad it is not as popular as the Tyrannosaur I did before it. I worked a T.rex to please all. He's just an animal, hanging out, being the scary mofo he is yet being content at being the king. Go see my Lambeosaurus, who is a lot angrier... the coat was done to not piss off those who don't think dinos were naked. I really had a hard time doing this, but I had to go with what I think of T.rex to be like, but with a more advanced and modern forme with the fuzz and all. I'm glad you commented. I want more people to come and comment on my new T.rex!

You ain't seen the best lol...well maybe you have. IDK. Between my sales biz and my dino art, it's hard to do a revival, which is what I'm trying to do.
