Cubone realistic by EmperorDinobot Cubone realistic by EmperorDinobot
Cubone is a strong pokemon of the ground type. It is awkward in appearance, because it wears a sort of 'helmet' on its head, which in reality is overcalficied bone that grows OUT of its skull to better protect its head. It's believed they evolved this feature in order to protect themselves from the rocky conditions in which they live, which are mostly at the feet of mountains, inside the mountains, under the ground, and sometimes in the forest. Cubone are very territorial, and are taught by their parents to fend for themselves at a very young age. They also wield bones, which they throw at their enemies. It is unknown where they get these bones, but Cubones and Marowak collect them, and they seem to stockpile them in their colonies.
Cubone are usually loners, and they don't live in a defined group. Cubones and Marowaks always protect each other, no matter where they come from, or what 'clan' they belong to.
Cubones also emit a strange cry at night, and shed tears. There is an old legend that states that Cubone wears its dead mother's skull, and cries for her every full moon. It is now known that this is Cubone's actual head.

u my frend r false.cubones r actually baby kanghaskans tht w8 by their dead mothers remains until its flesh and muscles deteriorate and then remove the skull and take its femur to use as a weapon, and as it grows and its head hardens(as an infants skull does) and meshs to the skull of its desceased mother, hence, a marowak.look it up.the japanese r pretty hardcore, the americans got such a cute version of pokemon, wen it actually has sum pretty dark parts to it

yes tht is indeed true.read the cubone description it will tell u cubones cry out for their mothers every night, possibly because it died, duh,the creators originally wanted it 2 go cubone-->marowak-->kangaskhan.another interesting anicdote:look at venonat and butterfree, look a little similar?now look at metapod and venomoth...see a resemblance?were they possibly swapped at birth?hmmmmmmmmmmmm???

I thought they were cute and lonely. I'm kinda ashamed that I never tried training one. In red blue and yellow, I always has trouble finding PKMN to train because they all sucked, so I only trained three pkmn, the started, pidgey and whatever came my way, and waited for the three birds. I should have trained a Cubone, since I love ground types.

Interesting interpretation :) I think the official word on the pokemon is that -galagala- (marowak) is the one that grows bone out of its head, and the child just wears the skull of its dead relatives.
