Andesaurus delgadoi by EmperorDinobot Andesaurus delgadoi by EmperorDinobot
Andesaurus is known by a handful of vertebrae from the tail and trunk section, and a bunch of limb parts. It was large but not as large as thought of at first. 20-25 meter range, which is still big. It is name so for the Andes mountains in South America. My mom grew up in the Andes, and I did too...kind of.

I used this:[link]
As reference, done by THE MASTER. Of sauropods.

Nice! Did you use mine as a reference? I see similar proportions and neck and tail pose.... (credit please :D)

Plus the type specimen was in all likelihood NO LONGER than 20m, and that's pushing it. That's realistically the biggest it could be unless the neck was ridiculously long, I literally made my 20m version the maximum size it could be (at least those parts of the body with known elements). I find if pretty hard to imagine that this guy could be 25m long, the vertebrae are absolutely dwarfed by even the immature type specimens of Giraffatitan and Brachiosaurus.

Thanks man :) But can you link to my revised version instead of the old oversized one? I don't want people thinking I really believe in a 30m long Andesaurus!

Omg. Ok. :| I'm too lazy to even look at art anymore. Or to revise sources or...anything at all. Too busy studying political science. It's haaaard.

Yeah, I hear ya! Political science class was.... well at my uni it was a mixed bag, the lectures were actually a breeze and pretty entertaining, but when you got to the term papers and group projects, that class would rear up and bite harder than a mosasaur. SPSS is the most annoying software ever... :X

But thanks for fixing the link! I really ought to take down the old version, but I'm keeping it up to show how common and pervasive size exaggeration can be, and how you really can't trust most commercial books to the same level as peer-reviewed papers. Thanks for nothing, Dougal Dixon! :p
