As sanity fades

In celebration of my Ice King being made a daily deviation, and as a thank you to everyone dropping by with faves and comments, I've decided to follow it up with an image based around Ice King's profoundly tragic past. Here I decided to paint a moment in time where Simon Petrikov holds little marceline close, knowing all too well that his sanity is fading, and that sooner or later, he won't be able to shelter her from the dangers of a crumbling world. Honestly, if you can think of a deeper, more tragic character than the Ice King, I'd love to hear about it. *in a kids show*
