I wanted to come up with one possibility for the elder Gallimimus. I think gameplay-wise it would have more health, a higher attack, overall a slower animation than the adult but a longer stride so effectively would be the same speed, and would be able to go much longer without resting or eating or drinking.
I always thought to myself (If this feature ever comes to the game) what if they only gave the herbivores Elder forms? Think about it, this could be the plant-eaters equivalent to the strains since there will be no herbivore mutants and they could possibly even counter the flesh-eaters mutant strains. Just a thought but I think it could be pretty cool if implemented properly
Well I think they'd probably have elders for all playable dinosaurs, especially if they're not that overpowered. We still don't know how a normal player is going to become a strain, if they even will be able to.
Probably have elders for all playable dinosaurs? Perhaps, but all the news I've hear about elders dinos was with the herbivores. Also, I'm pretty sure the strains will be playable in some form seeing that they've went through all the trouble giving them hunger and thirty stats.
They've been pretty silent about elders and I'm not sure it's been brought up by any of the devs since focusing on survival mode. Dondi has talked about the process to become a strain being difficult and secretive. I doubt most people will have the ability, other than if they need people to play for testing like they did way back when with progression or when people edit the database and such. We'll see, don't think it's too high or a priority for them at the moment anyway.
But they are still playable in some form....
Well yes, but I don't think anything will really counter them other than certain human weapons and other strains. Elder herbivores would break normal carnivore gameplay if they were that overpowered. They should be a challenge to take down and avoided if you're not full grown or with a pack.
Where did I say they should be in normal gameplay? Perhaps they can make it like hypos they can make it very difficult and challenging to unlock the elder stage in herbivores. Not to mention the way you drew most of these sort of makes them look like strains.
I think we were saying the same thing then. I don't think my elders look that much like strains a magna, which is kinda what I'm going for with them. Like an inbetween magna and normal where magna is an intermediate between hypo and elder. I'm just saying I would like to see elders for all survival dinosaurs, which if they add elders I don't know why they wouldn't be. I'm not a dev though and it's hard telling what direction they'll take. They've definitely mentioned having a skill tree type thing to encourage you to keep surviving as your same dinosaur.
Almost makes me want to play Gallimimus
lol yeah it is more fun when you can defend yourself against the things you can't outrun. Now it's just a waiting game for when you'll be out in the open long enough to be spotted by a carno or utah. Once you do, you're basically dead haha.
But what if...and hear me out....they just buffed Galli speed? Make it faster then most preds as long as they don't have ambush.
It is faster than all other non ambushing creatures currently in survival other than Utahraptor, which it's only barely slower than. Even if it's faster than everything, it still needs to protect its young occasionally. An elder could fight off utahs at least haha.
Omg this looks amazing!
Big noddle emu
Your welcome. Can you make a dinosaur with the color of a DK one?
Not sure what you mean.
In theory I could, not the sort of thing I'd do on my own for fun as a request though. I'd be open to being commissioned for something similar.
Cool idea. Is The Isle officially going in this direction or is the concept of elder dinosaurs still just a suggestion?
