The Invisible Shell

We’re used to thinking of a home as a place. But over time, we come to realize that a home becomes a part of us — like a shell we carry within our memories, our habits, and the way we look at the sea, the evening light, and the stillness of the night. And even when we travel far away, we continue to move within an invisible spiral, feeling its invisible protection upon us.

Our own shell is by no means a symbol of a turtle’s slowness. It is the image of a person who has learned not to hide from problems within their shell, but to use it as a temporary refuge where they can calmly reflect and gather strength, and to view solitude as a space for living before taking a great leap forward.
