I bought a PlayStation Classic, which is supposed to be a remake of the very first Playstation and I will now talk about what I think of it.
Alot of people are saying that the console is a complete rip off, and I somewhat agree with them. It only has 20 games and you cannot play discs from the original PS1, only games which are built into the console. The Sony entertainment start screen is not the same as the original one and the size of the console is unbelievably small. Those idiots at Sony did not even include a usb adaptor/plug. Even worse, they missed out some gems like Tenchu, Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, etc. Some of the games that are on the console can apparently be bought in the PlayStation store, but that doesn't make any difference to me as I did not have a PlayStation Model until now. I did have one when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago.
However, it's not all bad, I mean it does have the sound of the original Sony Sntertainment startup screen and it still has the original PS1 logo when you start a game which makes up for being devoid of the original Sony logo. It does have some classic gems such as Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter, Rainbow Six and GTA 1 with the ability to save and resume from where you last left off. No risk of getting a virus when downloading crappy emulations and finding an emulator that does not say crap like "DLL whatever is missing". The size at least makes it more portable, so it's easier to transport.
In my opinion, the PlayStation Classic is pretty good console, but badly needs improvements. Here's the improvements it needs to be a great gaming console that everyone can enjoy:
Make it the size of the original console.
Be given the ability to play discs from the original PS1 (or at least add more games)
Include a USB adaptor/plug
