OK, it's a quick lesson on how to draw a kimono. Just a glance, for total beginners.
There are several types of kimono. This one is most common. Married women have short sleeve. Unmarried and girls - long.

Sheesh. The Kimonoes in my drawings disobey almost all of these rules. Maybe mine are just Shrine Maiden uniforms?

If by "shrine maiden" you mean "miko" that their wardrobe is a white kimono + red hakama (+ haori). A quick glanse at different kimono styles.

I was drawing a kimono, and needed a reference. Good thing I found this! I was drawing the wrap to the left! XD

I think in several of my drawings it was wraped left... I also left some of the sleeve off.

thats really usefull and detailed : D very good to look up things.
but i have to say (maybe someone mentioned it already) obiage and obijime are NOT only accessories, actually the obiage holds the obimakura, which is together with obijime needed for most of the knot/bow styles in which the obi is tied. except when you wear yukata, then they are only decorative

Thank you for making this tutorial. I often have trouble drawing kimonos properly, especially at the sleeves.
