In my opinion The Black Book of Arda is an interesting book ;)

I haven't read it yet but the concept reminds me of another russian book named "The Last Ringbearer" (that... I haven't read either) which made Mordor a pre-industrial country raided by fascist-ecologist Elves and Men. :) There seems to be some love & hate relation between russians and Tolkien given to this two writers writing in his world but against his vision, also because of all the artists on Deviant who are russian (the brilliant Elena Kukanova to name one of the best), I also heard there have been a lot of different translation of the Lord of the Ring in Russia but with really different qualities, etc.
Not trying to draw a general scheme here, everyones experience with this masterwork is different, either he/she is Russian, Italian, French, or English, but the relationship between the LotR and Russia seems to be very interisting.

Anyway your art is really nice indeed, I feel the classic look of it is refreshing, but I want to see more. :)

Now a question : do you really have a domestic owl ?

Do not worry about your english (and pardon the time it took me to answer : I didn't see your message until now).

Though I don't think Tolkien would've liked something going so far it's fascinating that he, himself, imagined different traditions and tales about the First Age. These different versions don't automatically cancel eachother, they are more like different point of views on the same story, on that regard the Black Book of Arda "could be" what the evil Dunedain read under the reign of Aldarion in what is call "The New Shadow".

Wow a falconer ! Must be a really interisting work, since how long have you been doing it ? :)

I have not had the opportunity to read The last ring bearer, however long ago I found the translation of the Black Book of Arda on a forum Tolkien. (I also really appreciate the creativity of the Russians and Elena K. is also one of my favorite artists, her works are really wonderful!)
I was fascinated
by the concept expressed in the book: the evil that, in reality, is not evil. Melkor and Sauron in this book do not appear as Tolkien describes them, they look nice and are good. Yes, I know, everything seems strange but reading the history of sense. In fact there is a downside that legends elven not tell. It 'very interesting and inspired me to create the drawings and paintings.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm flattered that you appreciate my way of making art! Regarding the domestic owl, it is one of my many raptors. My main job is the falconer :)
Sorry for my English :P
