I haven't read it yet but the concept reminds me of another russian book named "The Last Ringbearer" (that... I haven't read either) which made Mordor a pre-industrial country raided by fascist-ecologist Elves and Men.
There seems to be some love & hate relation between russians and Tolkien given to this two writers writing in his world but against his vision, also because of all the artists on Deviant who are russian (the brilliant Elena Kukanova to name one of the best), I also heard there have been a lot of different translation of the Lord of the Ring in Russia but with really different qualities, etc.
Not trying to draw a general scheme here, everyones experience with this masterwork is different, either he/she is Russian, Italian, French, or English, but the relationship between the LotR and Russia seems to be very interisting.
Anyway your art is really nice indeed, I feel the classic look of it is refreshing, but I want to see more.
Now a question : do you really have a domestic owl ?
