HP Tarot - Queen of Cups

By Ellygator
(2007) 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" Pencil on Paper. Processed and framed in Photoshop.

Well, here's Narcissa as the Queen of Cups. She's definitely more Tarot canon than her husband as the King. The Queen of Cups can signify a woman with highly intuitive intelligence, a loving partner, an artist, a medium, a mother and protectress, and someone to whom home and family are very important.

I had her facing sideways, because she's not out to challenge or engage the viewer. She rests within herself. And reading how Narcissa always tried to stare straight ahead when Voldemort was around in DH, I think this fits...

Thank you! I'm glad it works for you as the Queen of Cups!

Hi :)
I'd like to purchase your HP Tarot deck.
Is it a whole deck - 78 cards?
Ellygator's avatar
Thanks for asking. Yes it is. Even the pip cards all have unique designs.

She looks like the Pythia, calm and collected, very meditative.

Thank you! I like that comparison.
Isnt that the door to the chamber of secrets main hall in the background?

Yup, well spotted! The Queen of Cups is a bit of a secret keeper, so it seemed appropriate. Plus the round design behind her gave the card a nice Art Nouveau vibe...
Nice... im a Harry Potter nerd... i get it from my mother

were these things done with ink, or with graphite, or a combination of both?
Ellygator's avatar
The main material is graphite pencils of varying hardness (mostly HB and B3), but the ornaments and the outline of the main motif of each card are also accentuated in pigment ink.
