Hi everyone!

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll already know this, but I've decided to put Tistow on a break. This is due to other work commitments and I simply can't find the time to work on it when I have a lot of other things going on at the same time.

I don't know when I can bring the comic back. I've contemplated on a 2nd Kickstarter but now is not a good time for that either.

Thank you very much for reading the comic up until now and for all the comments and mentions, it means the world to me.

If you like my work and would like to support me, you can do that through our Patreon or by commissioning me. I don't have a price list at the moment but I'm happy to discuss your ideas with you and work around your budget.

I do have a Ko-Fi page for those who prefer that as a way to give one-off donations or ask for commissions. You can find it here!

If you're a Patron and a Small Trolls reader, you're still going to get the monthly pages that we've set our goal for. This break only affects Tistow.

Chapter 2 is a go!

Mon Jun 11, 2018, 2:55 PM

Time to start updating again!

Thank you very much everyone who submitted a piece of art for our Chapter break. ♥ There's still the raffle left to do but I need to confirm some bits and pieces before then. I'll keep you posted on that.

A lot happens in this chapter and we've got a lot of new characters to introduce as well as get to know the old ones a little better. I'm really looking forward to it.

The comic will update once a week on Mondays from now on. Thankfully I can schedule the updates now so I don't need to be too concerned about missing days in case I'm away.

I've got some catching up to do on the website, namely the 'Stuff' section needs badly updating and 'Cast' could use a little bit more info per character. Especially now that we're gonna have a whole bunch of new ones in Chapter 2. One thing at a time.

Books are here!

Mon May 14, 2018, 12:32 PM

And they look amazing! I'm so chuffed with how the whole thing turned out. The spine makes a massive difference in making the soft cover feel a lot sturdier and the texture on the inside pages goes so well with the theme. ♥ And I've started shipping them out already! I'm doing the wrapping up on my own so I'm staggering the sendouts to make them easier for me to handle.

If you missed the Kickstarter and you'd like a copy of the book, you can get them from my Etsy shop! You can find it here.

KS batch will arrive tomorrow

Sun May 13, 2018, 2:20 PM

I really can't wait. I'm super anxious and really excited to see them! I need to go through the copies to make sure everything turned out OK in the final print, but as long as there's nothing drastically wrong with them (that I'd need to send them all back) I'm going to start shipping them on the same day.

If you'd like a copy of the book, you can buy them from my Etsy shop! You can find it here.

The delivery time on (Etsy) is currently set to 1-2 weeks, but I'll be changing that to 1-2 days tomorrow! So if you order now, ignore the estimated delivery date, you'll be getting your book much sooner. ♥

I have made an enquiry for an Art Print of Rooftops and smog! There'll be 20 of these up for grabs from my Etsy shop very soon. The print will be 21 cm x 29.7 cm (11.7 x 8.3 inches) on recycled heavyweight paper. The recycled stock gives it a lovely texture. ♥ Keep an eye out for more info on these prints, as they'll be a limited edition.

Chapter 1 on Etsy

Wed May 2, 2018, 4:28 AM

The physical copy of Tistow #1 is now available to purchase from my Etsy shop!
You can find it here.

Other than the copy on its own, you can also purchase most of the addons as a bundle.

The bundle includes a signed copy of the comic and signed copies of the prints from the Kickstarter drawn by MikaelHankonen and Simbelmina.

---
Wheii we've got the 2nd proof! And it looks brilliant. The issues that were flagged have now been fixed and we can move on to ordering the whole batch.

We're getting in a bit over 200 comics and 95% of those will go to Kickstarter backers. I'll have some left over to give away as prizes and to sell for those who missed out on the initial campaign.

Chapter 1 proof copy - no.1

Thu Apr 26, 2018, 3:26 PM

Physical proof is here! Slight issues with it though, so we've ordered another one in. I've written down a post about this process on our Patreon!

But here's a glance of what it looks like!

We're still looking for more Guest art for our chapter break and there's still plenty of time left to take part if you'd like to submit something. ♥

If you're interested, you can find the info here: "Looking for Guest Art for our chapter break"

Chapter 2 plans - Patreon and KS news

Wed Apr 25, 2018, 12:56 PM

Thank you everyone who has contacted me about the Guest Art round so far! We're still looking for more and there's plenty of time left to take part if you'd like to submit something. ♥

If you're interested, you can find the info here: "Looking for Guest Art for our chapter break"

~Patreon~

I've started posting pencils of Chapter 2 on Patreon! So far there's 5 pages available to view and I'll continue submitting progress of the pages as and when I have them. I've also been writing down my thoughts and plans for Ch 2 on each entry, what I've learned from the Kickstarter as well as posting concept sketches of the characters due to be introduced in this chapter.

We've brought back our weekly sketch requests! Every active Patron can suggest a sketch for us to do once a week. You can find the current active post here. The sketches will be free for everyone to view but only Patrons can make suggestions for Mika and I to do.

The profile has got a big makeover recently, a lot of our old content is now free for all to view and we've changed our main goal. We've started pushing towards the idea of going full-time on our personal projects. If you like our work and would like to help us make this dream come true, every penny helps. ♥

~Tistow - Chapter 2~

Chapter 2 starts in June and it's full of new characters. I don't have the actual page count yet but we'll keep you posted. It'll be longer than the previous one for sure though.

Kickstarter wise, I'm hoping to get the 1st chapter's proof copy in the post this week. The digital one looked great and I'm really looking forward to the real thing. ♥

Hi everyone!

I mentioned guest art briefly last week!

If you draw or have a webcomic, I'm looking for some guest art for the comic's downtime period in May.

What are we looking for?

The first chapter is due to finish online on the 11th of May. I'm be taking a short break from updating after that and we'll start the 2nd chapter in June. This is to give me a chance to finalise any pending things in the chapter and other work. I'll give you the exact date closer to the end of the chapter.

What I'm after would be some Tistow themed fanart or guest pages, depending on what's your forte! I'll make sure to link to your social media and/or comics if you have any of your own.

In addition, while this is not a contest, I will be picking one person to send a physical copy of the comic to at the end of the guest round.

The deadline for these requests is 17th of May. (originally 11th, but I've extended this because I'm switching hosts)

The only requirement I have is that the art is Tistow related. If you don't want to be included in the comic book raffle, let me know when you send me your work!

Other than that I'd like to know your social media links and if you take any commissions etc so I can mention them in the Authors' Comments on the website.

Feel free to email me to chat about this if you have any questions, I'd be happy to discuss it further. Alternatively you can leave a comment below. ♥

The best email to reach me on is elli.puukangas@gmail.com. dA notes work too if that's what you prefer.

A digital version of the comic is now available to purchase for just a couple of quid from Gumroad! The PDF includes Chapter 1 in full (34 pages) and a bonus comic Juuret (5 pages).

Juuret is kind of a 'Prologue' to the story and takes place on the day when Jack embarks on his journey to Tistow. You can either click on the banner above or find it here!

KS PDFs and CSS

Thu Apr 5, 2018, 1:31 PM

Got around to -finally-, hopefully, fixing the CSS for my journal skin. Let me know if it jumps weirdly around on browsers or different devices.

The Kickstarter PDFs have been sent out! The last thing to go out now is the actual physical copy and I'm waiting to see the proof copy before moving to sending the actual copies out.

I've got an announcement prepared for tomorrow regarding some guest art. The comic is taking a chapter break in May (we're switching hosts and I need a small break) and I'd like to offer folk the opportunity to advertise their own comics and art on the website during this downtime.

More info on this tomorrow!

Comic updates and KS progress

Tue Mar 13, 2018, 12:26 PM

Happy March everyone!

I've been posting updates on our Kickstarter progress on Twitter and the KS profile, but here's a compilation for dA!

We're a little behind schedule and this is due to a long term illness and it's had a knock-on effect on absolutely everything. We're super close to being finished though. Just a little bit of work still to do with the extra comic and we can send the PDFs out. It's been by far the most enjoyable bit to draw in this chapter. ♥ I'm sitting on all the merch and envelopes that are ready to be sent out as soon as the comic books are here.

The comic continues to update on the website on Fridays.

I'm expecting there to be a longer downtime on the website come May, and that's because I've not yet decided on what hosting provider to switch to nor how long getting everything ready will take. My current one has decided to rank up their prices to something ludicrous so I'm on a hunt for a new one. I'm trying to work through everything in smaller chunks, whatever my body allows for now. Some things are better health wise and some are worse, but we're getting there. It's frustratingly slow progress but it's progress either way. ♥

Really looking forward to this week!

Happy New Year!

Mon Jan 8, 2018, 8:08 AM

Happy 2018 everyone!

I wanted to give you a small update on what's going on with Tistow and its Kickstarter. There's still time for people to make changes to their addresses and pledge wishes. We're still looking at sending the PDF's out in February as planned. Book sendouts depend on the printers but they're on schedule too. Comic updates on the website will continue to go up every Friday.

I'm trying to recover from an long term illness at the moment and therefore keeping my distance from all social media apart from the update reminders. I will not open my character commission slots as originally planned and I'm currently fully booked comic schedules wise at least until April. If we see great improvement with my health in the next couple of months, this might change, but I'll make sure to let you know. I'm in good hands and looking forward to getting better, however long it takes.

Comments and questions are always appreciated. ♥

Kickstarter - Fully funded!

Thu Nov 30, 2017, 12:50 AM

We did it! This is amazing! ♥ We managed to break the £5000 mark which I couldn't even dream of reaching in the beginning. I'm teary and overjoyed and incredibly grateful for all the help and support we've received from so many people throughout the campaign.

Thank you so much! We can move on to the next part of the journey now and I'll share more info on that in the next couple of days. Cheers! ♥

You can find the campaign here!

Our other Kickstarter campaign is still up and running until later in December, you can find the campaign by clicking the banner below. If the link doesn't work, click here! Your pledge will help us fund the production of the comic both in print and online.

More Kickstarter news!

Fri Nov 24, 2017, 3:52 PM

There's only 5 days left on our Kickstarter! We've added the ratty sticker sheet to all rewards from Blacksmith's Buffet and up (£20+), for no extra cost. I'm not planning to add another Stretch Goal so close to the finishing line, but there's some surprises in store for all our pledgers. You can find the campaign by clicking on the banner at the top or by clicking here!

We're also taking part in another Kickstarter project! It's a comic we've been concepting for a while now, written by Michaels Hunter and French. While they do all the writing and worldbuilding, I'll be doing the illustrating bit of it! The project is called Pandemonium and you can find the campaign by clicking the banner below. If the link doesn't work, click here! Your pledge will help us fund the production of the comic both in print and online.

Website and Kickstarter updates

Wed Nov 15, 2017, 3:09 PM

The webcomic comment section now allows Guest Comments. Meaning you can comment without a Disqus account! I get that some folk don't like linking their social media or emails to places like Disqus, so you can go about it a bit more anonymously. We love comments and would like to make it easier for people to share their thoughts. ♥ Cheers to the person who pointed it out to me, wasn't aware it was an option!

The KS has been doing brilliantly and we've now passed the original 100 copies order. We've been in touch with our printer to increase the order as well as ask about the cost of adding pages to the book. As long as the last 2 weeks of the KS go well, we're going to add another 4 pages to the book and include the stretch goal as a bonus comic. Originally the plan was to make the bonus comic just a digital copy, but we now have the opportunity to include it in the physical book too.

Patrons can find the whole Act 2 (up to page 14) to read on our profile. If you prefer to read the comic weekly instead, you can do so on our Website. Right now the comic updates once a week and will continue to do so until 10th of December, which is when we'll take a short Christmas break and to prepare the comic for print.

Thank you everyone for the support you've shown our project! I'm very excited to see how the last 2 weeks of the campaign go.

Fancy a copy, either a digital or physical one?  You can find the campaign by clicking on the banner at the top or by clicking here!

We're now live! And already 100% FUNDED! It took only 2 hours to reach the initial goal, cor, that is awesome! Let's see if we can meet that stretch goal.

Edit 1: ..and we're there! Another 2 hours and our little ratty's managed to break into the box! We're currently sitting at a bit over £1600 and almost 300% funded!

The £1000 goal includes a sticker sheet and a new bookmark design that have been added to all the relevant rewards for no additional cost. If you've not pledged for these tiers, you can still get them as addons for a couple of extra crowns.

Edit 2: Second Stretch goal smashed! This means everyone who's pledged for a tier that includes the PDF version of the original comic (that's ALL tiers except the £1 one) will get an extra short comic drawn by me and coloured by MikaelHankonen. The story focuses on the day Jack started his journey to Tistow. You'll get to meet some of his closest family and friends.

We're looking at around 4-6 pages for the comic, but can't give the exact page count just yet. PDF is in the works, but we're not yet sure if we can include the extra in the physical copy. We'll keep you posted!

Edit 3: Kickstarter's given us a lovely little badge that marks Tistow as a 'Project We Love'! Thank you so much! ;^; I can't express how much this means to me right now, it's been a very challenging year and to see the campaign doing so well makes all the hard work worth it. All the extra funds will be invested in the comic project so the more you donate the more we have to work with in the future. ♥

Fancy a copy, either a digital or physical one?  You can find the campaign by clicking on the banner at the top or by clicking here!

If you like folklore and 19th century grittiness, this comic is right up your alley. If you fancy reading the first act for free, you can find it on our Website!

If you're unable to pledge via Kickstarter, shares and comments are always appreciated and help massively. ♥

Thank you everyone!

Tistow is coming to Kickstarter!

Tue Oct 24, 2017, 6:21 PM

I think it's time I write a little bit about this hahah.

Tistow's back! It's been a long wait but we're finally in a position where we can start updating again and also commit the comic to print. And that's what the Kickstarter is for! Our budget is very small so we hope we won't have any issues getting the printing and shipping funded.

The 1st Chapter is 40 pages long, including 32 pages of the comic and 8 pages of supporting content. We've got some extra goodies as well as guest prints to go as rewards for the campaign and if you'd like a custom illustration from me, that's also included.

If you're not familiar with the comic, click on the banner and it'll take you to our website. If folklore and Victorian history is your cup of tea, this graphic novel is right up your alley!

Shares and comments are always appreciated and help massively. ♥

We've got a lot of stuff to share and our plan is to keep it going for at least two hours. If you've kept an eye on our Twitter feed, you might already know we're working on a game project for Karo's portfolio. We'll tell you a little bit more about it during the stream.

And if you're interested in seeing some in progress scribbles for comics we're involved in (Odie, Gold Rush or Tistow), come pop by!

We'll be working on Patreon rewards for those who are eligible. If you'd like to be on that list, you still have time to sign up before the end of the month!
