Terribly late to respond so there goes efficiency hahah. In all seriousness though, I've been thinking about this a lot and trying to come up with something worth your while.
I work freelance so a lot of it comes down to treating art as a business. Evidently webcomics don't make me any money at the moment so I work on Tistow in my free time, but the same thing applies. It'll very quickly turn into a daily routine! There'll be times when you reeeaaally don't want to do it and times when you beat yourself up for not doing 'enough'. Don't let it get to you, just keep at it no matter how hard it feels. Most importantly, enjoy the creation process, remember to take breaks and keep trying new things.
I have a daily schedule that I (mostly) stick to. I work on commissions during the day and reserve my evenings to Tistow. That way it feels like a reward at the end of the day!
Do let me know when you start your project, I'd love to see it!
