To those of you that wear glasses: Did you ever lose them, spend ages looking for them, and eventually have it pointed out to you that you've been wearing them the whole time? It's striking and upsetting to me how often people fail to see what's right in front of them, whether by choice or otherwise. Everybody needs a hero, a guide, somebody who's been-there-done-that-will-get-you-a-discount-on-the-tshirt. Trust me, as one of the most iconoclastic people I've ever come across, I'm perfectly entitled to take offence to this. What a summer. As the year turned in December/January I had so many plans destined to lay unfulfilled and so many opportunities that I could never have anticipated spread out before me. and buddhists dont believe in death like americans may ...they believe in reincarnation and depending on how happy and enlightened you were in your past life it will decide on weather you will be a beetle ...a dog .. or a human or anything ... but reincarnation itself was thought to be suffering..coming back to the same earth over and over .. thats why there is enlightenment it is breaking the cycle of being rebirthed ..(i believe after that you can just live in the astral plane and visit infinite dementions )

why seek perfect knowledge when the ultimate fate of all life is death...

Human soicety has become a means of collecting as much as physically possible before you die, be it money, property, cultural experiences , whatever.

Adding wisdom, buddhism style is merely another collection to be made redundant when you shuffle off this mortal coil.

I'm not complaining about our posessive, materialistic society, i just feel that organised and not-so organised religion are merely further, deeply unnecessary spin-offs ot it.
