I don't believe enlightenment is any cause for celebration.
why seek perfect knowledge when the ultimate fate of all life is death...
Human soicety has become a means of collecting as much as physically possible before you die, be it money, property, cultural experiences , whatever.
Adding wisdom, buddhism style is merely another collection to be made redundant when you shuffle off this mortal coil.
I'm not complaining about our posessive, materialistic society, i just feel that organised and not-so organised religion are merely further, deeply unnecessary spin-offs ot it.
why bother?
........................................... i couldnt comment on the forum but ... you are wrong about what you said .... everything you said that you have a problem with could be fixed by buddhisms way of life ... buddhism is all about ending suffering by letting go of physical world and possessions ....even our bodies are a physical possession
